Commercial Underwriting Manager - Transportation Unit - Jacksonville, FL Relocation assistance is available Salary: $90,000 - $120,000
Our client is a national Property and Casualty insurance company that specializes in writing various types of Transportation accounts. They have over 70 years of experience and are a reputable name in the industry. They focus primarily on trucking (long and short haul), business auto, public auto and cargo. Accounts range from $25,000 in premium to over $1million.
In this role, you will:
Manage and direct a team of Commercial Underwriters Evaluate risks that exceed staff authority while adhering to corporate objectives Mentor and coach staff on underwriting technique and analysis Ensure underwriting is being performed properly to ensure maximum profitability Conduct any staff adjustments, performance reviews, hirings or terminations
To be qualified, you should have: 10+ years of commercial underwriting experience with an insurance carrier 5+ years of supervisory experience Technical knowledge of commercial trucking accounts, business auto, public auto and/or cargo Must have strong communication skills and the drive to be a part of a growing organization
